Iranian Artist Unveils Metal-Engraved Qurans in Qatar

An Iranian artist has unveiled four unique editions of the Holy Quran, intricately engraved on metal sheets, in Qatar, Tehran Times reported.

The artist, Seifollah Mohammadpouram, is renowned for his expertise in Quranic engravings and has showcased his exceptional craftsmanship through these masterpieces.

The editions vary in size and weight: 3 kg, 8 kg, 12 kg, and 18 kg, each crafted from metal sheets of differing dimensions and thicknesses. The 3 kg edition measures 10 x 15 cm with a thickness of 0.3 mm, while the 8 kg version features sheets sized 20 x 24 cm at 0.4 mm thick, each displaying two pages. The 12 kg Quran consists of 20 x 20 cm sheets with a thickness of 0.5 mm, also featuring two pages per sheet.

The largest edition, weighing 18 kg, is divided into three volumes, each containing ten sections (juz). These metal-engraved Qurans exemplify a blend of traditional Islamic artistry and modern techniques, captivating audiences with their intricate designs.
