Police in Mumbai, India, have launched an investigation after Quranic verses were found in firecrackers, according to a report.
It came in response to a complaint from a local resident about a Quran desecration act, after he found verses of the Quran on the remnants of firecrackers during the Diwali celebrations in the city, police said.
He said pages of the Quran were reportedly used in making the firecrackers.
Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights with its variations also celebrated in other Indian religions.
