Austrian Muslims file lawsuit over controversial map of Islam

The Islamic Religious Society of Austria (IGGOE) has revealed that it intends to file a lawsuit against the government of Chancellor Sebastian Kurz for launching a controversial website called Map of Islam.
IGGOE, an intergovernmental organization representing Muslim interests in Austria, has warned of stigmatizing all Muslims living in Austria as a potential threat to society and the country’s democratic legal system, as this campaign fuels racism and exposes Muslim citizens to enormous security risks.
Austrian Muslims criticized the government on social media for publishing a map of political Islam that identifies the locations of mosques and associations across the country.
The organization stressed that the publication of all the names, jobs, and addresses of Islamic institutions represents unprecedented violations of privacy.
