British FCDO advises citizens against travel to Afghanistan amid heightened security risks

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the British Government has advised the English against all travel to Afghanistan.
According to its statement, there is a heightened threat of terrorist attacks in or around religious sites and during religious events and celebrations.
The security situation in Afghanistan is volatile, the statement adds, warning against a significant risk of detention of British nationals.
FCDO has advised those who choose to travel to or stay in Afghanistan against the advice to keep a low profile, be vigilant, avoid all crowds and public events including religious events, and take appropriate security precautions.
