Shia Muslims worldwide condemn sectarian remarks by Wahhabi preacher
Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, across the world have condemned the sectarian remarks of the Wahhabi preacher, Othman Al-Khamees, and his repeated calls for labeling Shia Muslims as apostates and infidels.
The Wahabi preacher’s statements were delivered when he was hosted on the talk show ‘Podcast Without Paper’, which is broadcast on YouTube.
Activists and bloggers told Shia Waves Agency that “the Ahlulbayt’s school of thought, which is followed by their followers all over the world, is considered one of the authentic Islamic schools of thought and the true extension of the original Islamic religion, and no one has the right to accuse the Shia Muslims of apostasy and call for their killing.”
They continued that “what Othman Al-Khamees said about the Shia does not comply with the tolerance of Islam and the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family, who says that (A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands).”
The activists stressed that “the Kuwaiti government, through the Public Prosecution, must immediately apply the National Unity Law to Khamees,” and also hold him “fully responsible for the consequences of his statements,” explaining that these statements have “serious reactions, God forbid, like what happened in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the terrorist attack that targeted Imam al-Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait.”
They stressed that “the Kuwaiti government bears full political and social responsibility, and its silence will make it a partner in the consequences of such misguided fatwas.”
