Pakistan Government makes agreement with terrorist group

The government of Pakistan has signed an agreement with Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan; the same group which had previously been declared by the state as an extremist terrorist group in 2021.

According to this agreement, the government of Pakistan will establish a special police force to combat “blasphemy” within the framework of the country’s federal police.

During Imran Khan’s office as Prime Minister, this group was recognized as a terrorist group and its media activities were also banned.

According to the new agreement, the Pakistani government has pledged to lift the group’s media ban and withdraw all charges against its members.

The government of Pakistan has said in this document that it no longer recognizes Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan as a terrorist group.

Some Pakistani experts have said that this agreement may benefit the ruling parties in the short term, but concessions to religious extremist groups will increase the country’s problems in the long term.

Not long ago, the arrangement that the Taliban’s foreign minister signed with the leader of Sipah Sahaba, who is accused of killing thousands of Pakistani Shias, was met with sharp criticism inside and outside of Pakistan.

Critics have regarded this action as complicity and support for the killers of thousands of innocent Shiites in Pakistan.
