American writer encourages European families to name their children “Jafar” for its special Islamic characteristics

The American writer, Olivia Moore, has urged parents to name their male newborns “Jafar” due to the special characteristics of wisdom, leadership, bravery and intelligence this name possesses.

Moore confirmed that the Sixth Imam of the AhlulBayet, peace be upon them, is the most famous person who had this name.

Moore, specialized in studying civilizations and history, published a new editorial on the “GB Times” and was translated by Shia Waves Agency.

The editorial contained 18 questions with their answers, through which Moore dug deep into the name “Jafar”, its origin and popularity in countries whose males would be honored to have this name on them.

The writer put Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, on the list of the most famous individuals who have this name. And she pointed out that this is the name of the Sixth Imam who established the Jafari School of figh thought and who distributed the Islamic sciences.

As the name “Jafar” is less popular in Europe than in Islamic and Arab countries, Moore encouraged “the parents in Europe to name their newborns after this blessed name”.

It should be mentioned that the publication of this editorial coincides with the sorrowful martyrdom of Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, which is marked on the 25th of Shawwal.
