Imam Ali Holy Shrine discusses designs for expansion project with specialists
Imam Ali Holy Shrine has revealed its plans to expand the Holy Shrine which will include three courtyards surrounding the main shrine to accommodate the growing numbers of pilgrims visiting Imam Ali, peace be upon him.
The Holy Shrine held an architectural and cultural symposium in partnership with the Studies and Research Center at Al-Kufa University to discuss the final designs with a team of specialists in architecture.
Dr. Abdul Hadi Al-Ibrahimi, a member of the board of directors at Imam Ali Holy Shrine, said in a statement to Shia Waves Agency, “The main purpose of the expansion project is to provide the best services to the honorable pilgrims, whose number is increasing.”
It should be mentioned that Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf is witnessing increasing numbers of pilgrims visiting the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, both from Iraq and other countries.
