ISIS-linked insurgents raid villagers in east Congo, killing 6

Rebels linked to the Islamic State group raided a village in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday and killed at least six people.

The army did not arrive in time to engage with the rebels, said Tonge Sorone, a young local.

A local community leader noted that six more bodies were found the next day, hinting that the toll could go higher as search for bodies was incomplete duo to lack of security in the area.

It should be mentioned that based on a UN report over 150 people were killed in the gold-rich Ituri province during the first half of April.
