Over 1,200 deaths across Europe per year due to air pollution, new study finds

In a new report released on Monday, the European Environmental Agency (EEA) warned of the increasing danger air pollution continues to have across European countries.

The EEA confirmed in its reported, carried out in over 30 countries, that, “Key level of air pollutants in Europe, particularly in Central and Eastern countries –  remains above guidelines put by the World Health Organization

The agency said that “Air pollution causes over 1,200 premature deaths per year among 18-year olds, and increases risk of chronic diseases later in life.”
