Imam Hussein Charity dispatches emergency aid to victims of earthquake
After the deadly earthquake which struck both Turkey and Syria, resulting in thousands of buildings, including hospitals and schools, have collapsed and infrastructure has been badly damaged. Local responders are desperately through the rubble for survivors.
The death toll has now crossed over 16,000 bringing the combined total of fatalities in Turkey and Syria to 19,362.
The quake is on track to become Turkey’s deadliest since 1999, when a 7.6- magnitude tremor near the north-western city of Izmit led to an official death total of 17,217- although many sources have said the true figure may have been almost three times higher.
It is worth mentioning that Shirazi-affiliated Imam Hussein Charity (IHC) has taken the initiative of sending emergency aids to people affected by the recent deadly earthquake.
