Indonesian activists: Islam spread in Indonesia through descendants of Imam Ali, Sayyeda al-Zahra

Indonesian religious activists responded to video statements by politician Ali Mukhtar Ngabalin, in which he claimed that Islam spread in the Indonesia by Chinese Muslims. The activists stressed that the credit for the spread of Islam in Indonesia belongs to scholars from the descendants of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family).

Activists said, according to what was reported by the Indonesian newspaper (Populis), on Sunday, that “the credit for the spread of Islam throughout Indonesia belongs to the honorable scholars from the descendants of Sayyeda Fatima Al-Zahra, the daughter of the Noble Prophet and her husband, the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon them all).”

They explained that “based on the reliable words of the historian (Muhammad Iskandar), these scholars had the credit for changing the religion of the Indonesian people from Javanese Hinduism and Buddhism to Islam, and after them the number of Muslims in the country today became the highest in the world.”
