Representative of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi meets Grand Mufti of Eastern Georgia

The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-shirazi in Canada, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen, Sheikh Salih Sibaweh, visited the Grand Mufti of Eastern Georgia, His Eminence Sheikh Ayvaz Mardanov, in his office at the Great Friday Mosque in the capital, Tbilisi.

In a statement to Shia Waves Agency, Sheikh Sibaweh said: “An expanded meeting in Mardanov’s office was held, in the presence of the imam of the mosque.”

He added, “During the meeting, we emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and spreading the culture of coexistence between Muslims and non-Muslims as well. We also conveyed the peace and prayers of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, to those present and to all Muslims in Georgia.”

Sibaweh affirmed, “His Eminence, the Grand Mufti of Georgia, praised the honorable Shirazi Religious Authority for its honorable humanitarian roles and its call to spread a culture of peaceful coexistence.”
