Lebanon holds mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein on Ashura


Ahlulbayt followers in Lebanon are holding mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, since the first day of the holy month of Muharram.
The ceremonies were organized by Azizat al-Hussein Committee, in the capital Beirut, in the presence of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, Sheikh Jalal Maash and a group of scholars and believers.
Sayyid Badr al-Mousawi delivered a lecture in which he recalled the painful calamities of Ashura and the crime that took place against Imam Hussein, his companions and his family, peace be upon them, on the tenth day of Muharram.
Islamic centers, Husseiniyahs and mosques in various Muslim and non-Muslim countries witness the establishment of mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, on Ashura.
