Pakistan: The seventh annual conference in preparation for the revival of the holy month of Muharram
A large gathering of Shia scholars and religious activists in Pakistan gathered to coordinate and prepare for the observance of the rituals of Muharram and Safar.
The Pakistan Cultural Center hosted the seventh annual conference titled “Union of the Hussaini Nation”, in the presence of a group of Shia scholars, activists, government officials, and crowds of academic students and university professors.
A number of clerics at the conference called for the necessity of avoiding division and disagreement and strengthening unity among the people of the Islamic nation.
The Pakistani Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Dr. Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, recommended everyone to avoid extremism and cultural, linguistic and ethnic fanaticism.
He referred to the plots of the enemies of Islam to sow discord in Pakistan, saying, “Muslims in the Middle East suffer from many problems because of these conspiracies, so we in Pakistan must unite and thwart such conspiracies.”
