Scholarly condemnation of the Bahraini regime’s contempt for the lives of prisoners of conscience

Bahraini scholars condemned what they described as the ruling Bahraini authorities’ disregard for the lives of the people of the country, especially prisoners of conscience.
The statement held the authorities responsible for the consequences resulting from ill-treatment and denial of treatment in prisons, saying in their statement, “The health negligence in light of the Corona pandemic should not be tolerated at all.”
Referring to the health status of Sheikh Abdul Jalil Al-Miqdad, the scholars described the Sheikh as a lofty religious symbol and a leader among the great leaders of the people.
The scholars stressed that the essence of the crisis in Bahrain is that the people do not have a say in the decisions taken by the regime, which does not care what happens to the people as long as the affluent people live in another world and think that they are immune from what is happening.
The scholars called on the general public to “deny the evils practiced by the authority and its irresponsible treatment of this pandemic and its detention of the free people, its symbols and scholars as political hostages, along with torture and health neglect.”
