American Orientalist Dr. Douglas Crowe wrote a research about the most prominent political and religious events after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Crowe is a senior researcher at the International Institute for Higher Islamic Studies in Malaysia, where he undertakes and pursues a new policy in researching the history of historical ideas and opinions on interfaith issues, as well as in Islamic activities.
In his research ‘The Murder of Hussein ibn Ali and Early Views on the Imamate’, he touched upon the political and religious events after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and the emergence of revolutions and movements that demanded the victory of the family of the Prophet, peace be upon them, and the repudiation of their oppression, such as the Tawabeen movement and the Mukhtar al-Thaqafi revolution in Kufa.
He obtained his PhD from the Institute of Islamic Studies at Miguel University in Montreal, and he has studied Arabic in North America for more than fifteen years in Arab and Islamic courses at the University of Virginia and the University of Maryland.
