Engineering department at Al-Abbas Holy Shrine installing wooden frame of Imam al-Jawad basement’s grid

The engineering and technical teams at Al-Abbas Shrine have begun installing the wooden frame of the grid for the Sardab (basement) of Imam al-Jawad, peace be upon him. This is part of a project to rehabilitate and develop the blessed site, reflecting its religious and historical significance.

The shrine’s administration emphasized that the work follows precise technical specifications, using high-quality wood to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal before silver plating and decorative elements are added.

The new structure features an intricate design with nine calligraphic frames inscribed with parts of the ziyarah of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon him, and a central panel bearing Quranic verses.

This project aligns with the shrine’s ongoing efforts to enhance sacred sites, providing a more comfortable and spiritually enriching environment for visitors. The design preserves the traditional heritage while incorporating modern artistic touches inspired by authentic Islamic art.
