With limited number of users and publishers, OpenAI tests SearchGPT engine
OpenAI said that it is testing a new search engine called SearchGPT that uses generative AI to provide results, potentially challenging Google’s dominance in the online search market.
The company announced on Thursday that SearchGPT will initially launch with a small group of users and publishers, with the possibility of a broader rollout later on.
OpenAI plans to integrate the search features into ChatGPT rather than offering it as a standalone product.
This move positions OpenAI as a direct competitor to major search engines, particularly Google, as well as Bing, which is developed by OpenAI’s largest investor, Microsoft.
