On Sunday, the Pakistani Taliban announced a three-day ceasefire with the Islamabad government during Eid Al-Adha, as reported by news outlets.
This truce comes amid a resurgence of militant violence in Pakistan. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is closely allied with the Afghan Taliban, has been increasingly active since the Afghan Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021.
Recently, the Pakistani Taliban have claimed responsibility for several attacks and are suspected in others, particularly in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province near the Afghan border.
