Holy Karbala relocates factories to reduce detrimental impacts of pollution

In an attempt to reduce pollution and its detrimental consequences, the local government in Holy Karbala has begun to relocate factories outside residential areas.

The director of the Environment Department in Karbala, Engineer Hamed Ubaid Al-Yasari, said in a statement that the department is working on relocating industrial and commercial facilities outside residential areas to prevent pollution.

Al-Yasiri noted the presence of factories in residential areas, which violates environmental regulations, such as the Al-Mu’alamaji area, and mentioned the relocation of a brick factory in Imam Aoun and Al-Kamaliya.

Additionally, the official mentioned plans to relocate construction industry facilities in the Frieha area to reduce smoke emissions.

According to official reports, the local government in Holy Karbala is committed to applying environmental standards and criteria in the distribution of factories.
