Madagascar declares February 3rd as National Afforestation Day; Shirazi young followers launch initiative
Madagascar launched the first special contribution to preserving the environment on marking the National Day of Afforestation, through the activity held by university youth from the followers of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi, in the city of Magenga.
The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Hujjat al-Islam wa-al-Muslimeen, Sheikh Muhammad Radhi Wasram, said in a statement to Shia News Agency: “As part of implementing the commandments of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) to revive and restore the land, and on the anniversary of his honorable birth, the Shirazi youth took the initiative to launch an afforestation campaign.”
He continued, “This campaign is the first in the city of Magenga after the Madagascarian government declared the third day of February a national day for afforestation, with the aim of preserving the environment.”
