Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Set to Make Electoral Debut in Wayanad Bypoll

In a major political development, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha bypoll from the Wayanad constituency in Kerala. This comes after her brother, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, decided to retain the Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Rahul Gandhi had won both seats in the recent general elections, but as per rules, he was required to vacate one. After a marathon party meeting, the Congress leadership announced that Rahul would keep the Rae Bareli seat, which has been a stronghold of the Gandhi family for generations.

Priyanka expressed happiness at the opportunity to represent Wayanad, saying she would work hard to ensure Rahul’s absence is not felt. If victorious, it would mark the first time all three members of the Gandhi dynasty – Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka – would be seated in Parliament simultaneously.
