Arab and Islamic foreign ministers have condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks on a “Greater Israel,” describing them as a “blatant and dangerous violation” of international law, Arab News reported. In a joint statement signed by foreign ministers from 31 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and the UAE, as well as the heads of the Arab League, OIC, and GCC, the ministers warned that such pronouncements threaten Arab national security and regional peace.

The statement criticized Netanyahu and his far-right allies’ plans to annex Palestinian territories, particularly opposing extremist Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s settlement approval in the West Bank’s “E1” area. European nations, including Germany, have also expressed concern about these moves, highlighting their impact on Palestinian mobility and the prospect of a sovereign Palestinian state based on 1967 borders.

The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to international law and called for a ceasefire in Gaza, condemning Israel’s ongoing military actions and humanitarian blockade that have caused significant Palestinian casualties and suffering since October 2023.
