Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Honorable Prophet treated Muslims and polytheists with compassion and mercy
The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, affirmed on Thursday that the greatest thing the Honorable Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his pure family, brought to the whole of humanity that he guided them from darkness into light.
His Eminence’s statement comes at a time when the world is witnessing bloody conflicts and a dangerous decline in morality.
What the world needs most today is to follow in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad and his family, peace be upon them, in spreading love and peace, treating each other with compassion and mercy, and rejecting division and hatred.
In a speech he gave on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday, His Eminence said: “Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, is truly the Prophet of mercy and humanity. He is the Guide and the Giver of glad tidings who came as a mercy to the worlds”.
He continued: “The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, is the only prophet who did not curse his people, but rather prayed for their guidance even in times of crisis and hardship.”
His Eminence explained that ”with such divine character, compassion, and a pure and clean heart, he dealt with Muslims and even with idolaters and hypocrites. He carried a great message whose foundation is the guidance of people and leading them out of darkness into light.”
He pointed out that “the Honorable Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, despite what he faced during his honorable life and the revelation of the tolerant message of Islam, nevertheless he remained tolerant and compassionate towards the hypocrites and those who opposed his message.”
