Residents of Holy Karbala hold their annual mourning procession over martyrdom of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Askari
The residents of the holy city of Karbala have commemorated the sorrowful anniversary of Imam al-Hassan al-Askari, peace be upon him, in Holy Samarra.
The Shia Waves correspondent in Holy Samarra said that “Large crowds of the people of Holy Karbala held their mourning profession to extend their heartfelt condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hassan al-Askari, peace be upon him.”
The honorable mourners told Shia Waves correspondent that “The martyrdom of Imam Al-Mehdi’s father, Imam al-Hassan al-Askari, peace be upon them, is amongst the most painful tragedies that befell the Muslim nation.”
They explained that “Although the Imam’s life and Imamate was short, he made great sacrifices to preserve the religion of his grandfather, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), and he confronted the deviant ideologies during his time.”
They concluded that “Imam al-Hassan al-Askari, peace be upon him, prepared the Muslim community of the time for the Occultation of Imam Al-Mehdi, may Allah Almighty bring forward his honorable reappearance, through the Islamic heritage he left.”
