Holy Najaf reveals preliminary numbers of pilgrims on Prophet’s Martyrdom anniversary

The Secretariat-General of Imam Ali Holy Shrine has revealed the preliminary numbers of pilgrims who participated in the commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s, martyrdom anniversary.

It said in a statement released today Thursday and was received by Shia Waves Agency that it “recorded more than 3 million pilgrims as a preliminary number who participated in the mourning ceremonies of the Prophet’s martyrdom anniversary in Holy Najaf.”

The Secretariat-General added that “The crowds of pilgrims continued to arrive in the holy city for three consecutive days, as the Husseini Mawakibs provided them with fresh meals and cold water amid hot temperatures.”

It should be mentioned that 7850 Husseini Mawakibs were set up to offer their services to the mourners on this painful occasion.
