India: Shia devotees hold symbolic funeral of Holy Karbala martyrs
The Indian official newspaper “Live Hindustan” reported that a symbolic funeral was held for the martyrs of Holy Karbala in the predominantly Shia-populated city of Badagaon, Uttar Pradesh.
The newspaper said in its report, translated by Shia Waves Agency, that “72 symbolic coffins have been prepared, representing the number of the companions of the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon them), with signs of their names placed on each coffin.”
The report added that “Religious preachers delivered speech to the mourners to highlight the sacrifices of these martyrs,” indicating that “among the preachers were (Maulana Mehndi Husseini), (Maulana Mujahir Hussain), and(Maulana Zeeshan Haider).”
The Indian newspaper pointed out that “Other religions activities were organized in these ceremonies such as the recitation of poems in honor of Imam Hussein, his family members and his honorable companions, locally known as “Noha.”
