Chicago-based IEC Husaini School organizes Art Exhibition to commemorate Al-Baqee Anniversary
Islamic Education Center (IEC) Husaini School, in cooperation with Al-Baqee organization, held an event titled: “Lady Zainab Azadari Art Exhibition” to honor the memory of Baqee cemetery one hundred years after its demolition.
The occasion showcased the talents of young students of various ages who were inspired by love for Ahlul-Bayt.
The participants presented their artworks in condemnation of the oppressions of the heads and followers of Saqife, as well as their present-day agents, towards the progeny of the holy prophet, while expressing their hope for revival of Baqee.
According to the organizers, the project was designed to instill mourning traditions in the minds of the young generation, and to give the concept of “Azadari” a creative structure.
During individual interviews, each participant was given a chance to explain their work and communicate their ideas.
Representatives of Al-Baqee organization and other guests gave speeches on the importance of such projects and provided feedback on their observation.
It should be noted that this art exhibition was an amazing example of its kind as the students freely shared ideological notions in the form of art as an expression of their protest.
Today, 100 years after the destruction of Al-Baqee, the hearts of the Shia are still burning with agony in remembrance of this horrendous act perpetrated by the Salafi Wahhabis.
The pain has been driving numerous similar events across the globe as expressions of protest.
These struggles are meant to exert pressure on the Saudi government and to encourage action for reconstruction of the cemetery which houses the bodies of four Shia Imams.
