Global Shiite community celebrates blessed marriage of Imam Ali and Sayyeda Fatima
Shiite Muslims in Iraq and around the world joyfully commemorated the anniversary of the sacred marriage of Imam Ali and Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon them), known as the “Union of the Two Lights.”
The celebration, which falls on the first of Dhu al-Hijjah, was marked by heartfelt expressions of joy and devotion among followers of Ahl al-Bayt, who view the union as a divine and spiritually significant event.
In Holy Karbala, visitors from across Iraq and abroad gathered at the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) to offer congratulations. The shrines were adorned with fresh flowers and decorations, and messages of celebration were shared widely.
Shiite centers and Hussainiyas held large-scale poetry gatherings and festivities, reflecting the global reverence for this historic and revered marriage from which the line of Imams descended.
