Black flag of mourning raised over Holy Askari Shrine in commemoration of Imam al-Askari’s martyrdom

The Secretariat-General of the Holy Askari Shrine in the city of Samarra has raised the red flag of mourning in commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam al-Hasan al-Askari, peace be upon him.

The shrine, through its official website, announced the completion of all preparations to receive the millions of pilgrims expected to arrive from various cities in Iraq and abroad to observe this sorrowful occasion.

Service Mawakib have been spreading along various roads leading to the holy shrine for several days to offer various services to the honourable pilgrims arriving from all over Iraq.

Additionally, many mosques and Hussainiyas in various Islamic countries announced their organization of special mourning programs to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hassan al-Askari, peace be upon him, reaffirming the importance of observing these rituals and honoring the memory of the oppressed Imam and the Imams of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.
