Imam Hussein Holy Shrine holds ceremony to replace black flag atop holy dome with red one

The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, held a ceremony yesterday to replace the black banner of the dome with the red one, following the end of the months of sorrow, Muharram and Safar,

It is worth mentioning that the red flag atop the holy dome symbolizes the call for vengeance for the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, his family members and honourable companions.

This red flag will remain on the golden dome of the holy shrine until the day the Avenger from the family of the Holy Prophet, Imam al-Mahdi, reappears, and exacts revenge on the killers of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

It should also be noted that Shia Muslims and followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, will continue to wear mourning clothes in remembrance of the martyrdom of Hazrat Mohsin, peace be upon him, during the Muhsiniya Mourning Period.
