Indian students organize mourning gathering to commemorate Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage in New Delhi
The Indian capital, New Delhi, witnessed the gathering of hundreds of students from the Kargil and Ladakh regions to commemorate the Holy Arbaeen of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and his honourable companions.
Mourning ceremonies were held in two separate locations for men and women in the city, coinciding with the gathering of millions of pilgrims in Iraq commemorating the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
The procession began at the New Delhi Railway Station and extended for approximately 8 kilometers, ending in the “Shah Mardan” area of Jor Bagh, where the event concluded, as students chanted in the Balti and Urdu languages, expressing their enthusiasm for commemorating this occasion.
Sheikh Jawad Habib and Maulana Feroz Rabbani delivered speeches, highlighting the sacrifice of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and his companions in their struggle for justice.
In the women’s session, Hajjah Banu gave a speech discussing the role of Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her, in Holy Karbala, emphasizing the importance of piety and chastity in Islam.
The procession was organized under the supervision of executive members and volunteers, who ensured that the event was conducted with discipline and cleanliness throughout the occasion.
