Ashura Exhibition at Imam Ridha Holy Shrine highlights tragedy of Karbala
In an atmosphere filled with spirituality and reverence, the Ashura Exhibition was held in the Dar Al-Rahma Portico at the Imam Ridha Holy Shrine, under the auspices of the Holy Shrine-affiliated Department of Non-Iranian Pilgrims in Holy Mashhad.
The exhibition featured a remarkable artistic display by Turkish artist Hassan Alinja, who presented paintings that reflect the tragic events of the Battle of Karbala.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of several religious and cultural figures, where artist Alinja presented a series of artworks that delve into the depths of Holy Karbala and narrate the details of the painful battle of al-Taff.
A representative from the Department of Non-Iranian Pilgrims at Imam Ridha Holy Shrine stated, “The exhibition aims to enhance the cultural and religious awareness of visitors and familiarize them with the events of Ashura through art, which is an effective means of conveying the humanitarian and spiritual messages carried by this great historical event.”
He added, “The paintings by artist Hassan Alinja embody the spirit of selflessness and sacrifice demonstrated by Imam Hussein and his family, peace be upon them, in Karbala. They are an expression of loyalty and devotion to their noble values.”
The exhibition was well-received by visitors, who expressed their admiration for the unique artistic style and the deep representation of Ashura scenes, which reflects an aspect of the significance of the Karbala tragedy in Islamic historical and cultural memory and enhances visitors’ understanding of the symbols and meanings carried by this great event.
