“From Sea to Sacrifice” Arbaeen Walk begins from Basra, Iraqi

Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, have begun their “From Sea to Sacrifice” annual walk towards the holy city of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, to participate in commemorating the Holy Arbaeen.

The Arbaeen walk began yesterday, Saturday, from the southernmost point in Iraq, Ras al-Bisha, south of Basra, about 15 days before its usual launch date each year.

The “From Sea to Sacrifice” journey spans a distance of 500 kilometers towards Karbala. This early departure is likely due to the high temperatures, necessitating more rest and longer stops along the way.
