British Ambassador to Iraq expresses pride over visiting Holy Najaf
The British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hickey, expressed his happiness and pride in visiting Holy Najaf and Imam Ali HolyShrine.
In a tweet on his official page on “X” (formerly Twitter), the Ambassador said: “It is a great honor to visit the city of Najaf Al-Ashraf and the shrine of Imam Ali, peace be upon him.”
Hickey expressed his admiration for the mourning ceremonies and Ashura activities he witnessed, where believers commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
The British official emphasized the importance of cultural and religious understanding between peoples, noting that such visits contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.
This visit comes within the framework of diplomatic efforts to enhance bilateral relations and cultural understanding between the United Kingdom and Iraq.
