Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta confirms importance of visiting blessed sites of Ahlulbayt

Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta—an Egyptian Islamic advisory, justiciary and governmental body—confirmed the importance of visiting the shrines and blessed sites of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, citing prophetic hadiths and narrations that emphasize this practice.

According to the Egyptian newspaper “Sada Al-Balad” and as reported by Shia Waves Agency, the official body revealed the ruling on visiting the shrines and blessed sites of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon him and his family, stating that it is one of the closest acts of worship and most beloved deeds to Allah Almighty.

It explained that “visiting the graves, in general, is recommended in Islamic law, so how much more so is it recommended to visit the family of the Prophet, peace be upon them.”

It emphasized that “after the grave of the Messenger of Allah Almighty, the most deserving graves to visit are those of the noble family members of the Prophet, which are considered gardens from the gardens of paradise.”

This statement of Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta comes in response to the significant interaction generated by a photo of Al-Ahly Club and national team player Mohamed Hani, who shared pictures of himself visiting the Imam Hussein Mosque in Cairo.

In recent times, the blessed sites of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, across Cairo have witnessed comprehensive development projects to accommodate a larger number of visitors from within and outside the country.
