Imam Hussein Holy Shrine announces preparations for Arafa pilgrimage
The Field Medical Center for Mass Gathering Medicine at Safeer al-Husseini Hospital, one of the medical centres affiliated to Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, has announced its readiness to provide medical services to pilgrims during the upcoming Arafa pilgrimage.
The director of the center, Dr. Amer Al-Shammari, said that “the hospital will provide its medical services during the blessed Arafa by deploying medical personnel inside the holy shrine, as well as through establishing a field hospital in the Sayyida Zainab Courtyard.”
Al-Shammari added that “the total capacity of the field hospital is 40 beds, equipped with all necessary devices, supplies, and medications,” adding that “the hospital will have specialized doctors and trained nursing teams in emergency medicine to provide the necessary medical services during the visit of Arafa.”
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Minister of Interior has expected an increase in the number foreign pilgrims who will come to commemorate the Holy Arba’een of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the Ministry of Interior, Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari emphasized the significance of the Holy Arba’een as it attracts millions of people from Iraq and other world countries, confirming that last year saw nearly 5M pilgrims from neighboring and world countries.
