Iraq: Husseini Rituals and Processions Department begins preparations for months of Muharram and Safar
The Department of Rituals and Hussaini Processions in Iraq and the Islamic World has announced the commencement of its early preparations for the months of sorrow, Muharram and Safar.
In a press statement followed by Shia Waves Agency, the Assistant Head of the Department, Muhammad Mustafa Al-Tawil, said: “The department has begun early preparations and arrangements to receive the months of Muharram and Safar.”
Al-Tawil added that “the preparations for the sacred Hussaini rituals have been made by organizing several measures that facilitate the process of registering the Hussaini processions and issuing identification cards to enable their participation in providing services to the honorable pilgrims and reviving the mourning rituals.”
It is expected that this year the holy city of Karbala will witness an increase in the number of Hussaini processions participating in providing services and reviving the Hussaini Cause during the months of Muharram and Safar, including processions coming from Arab and foreign countries.
