World to witness increase in large floods, new researches say

According to Al Jazeera, a research team in America has come to the conclusion that the world will see a significant increase in the number of large floods, so that by the end of this century, the average figure will reach “once a year” instead of the previous “once every hundred years”.
These scientists have also predicted that by the middle of this century, coasts around the world will witness flooding on average once every 9 to 15 years; an issue that puts residents of coastal cities around the world at serious risk.
Experts believe that the rise of the sea level is related to the melting of ice around the world, especially in areas such as Antarctica and Greenland.
