Iraq appreciates Danish Government’s legal position of criminalizing insult to Qur’an

Iraq praised the position of the Danish government in criminalizing acts of insult to the Holy Quran.

This came after law-makers of the Nordic country presented a bill to criminalize the burning of the Holy Quran and insulting holy books.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq praised the legal measure taken recently by the Danish government.

This action can maintain the status and sanctity of holy books which are sacred to many communities in the world, said Fo’ad Hossein.

Two days ago, Denmark’s Minister of Justice announced the proposal of the law prohibiting the burning of the Quran, which will be sent to the parliament for approval.
