Canadian academic writes book on the Battle of Karbala and the philosophy of Imam Hussein’s martyrdom
The international institution “Academia”, which specializes in publishing research and scientific and humanitarian publications, has published a specialized book on the eternal Karbala incident written by the academic at the Canadian McMaster University, Professor Syed Akbar Hyder.
At the outset of its introduction to the book entitled “Reliving Karbala,” the institution said, “At a time when most studies related to the epic events of the Battle of Karbala, and the martyrdom of the grandson of the Noble Prophet Muhammad, Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon him), were focused on the possible repercussions for the imam’s sacrifice and the exemplary models that can be built from this incident, other studies dealt with the different types of Husseini rituals held to commemorate it.”
The abstract of the book covers the impact of Karbala on the cultural and literary scene in South Asia.
