Shia researchers define Islam’s vision for environmental protection at a global conference hosted by Greece
Shia researchers participated in the Seventh International Conference on the Environment, which was held by the Orthodox Academy in Crete, in the Greek capital, Athens.
Shia Waves News Agency followed the activity of four Shia researchers during their participation in the conference, which was held under the slogan (Environmental Theology and Environmental Ethics), and they are Dr. Masoud Nouri, Dr. Fayyadh Jafar, Dr. Rasul Naqvi, and Dr. Mahjbeen Al-Dhale’.
In separate statements to the researchers, they stated that “their participation was very important, to familiarize the world with Islam’s position on the environment and to emphasize the creation of a valid and sound environment and to link this to the goals of sustainable development.”
They added that “the conference witnessed the participation of Muslim and Christian researchers, and the Shia attendance had a prominent role in presenting a real vision to address environmental problems.”
It is worth noting that the conference contributed to strengthening dialogues in the environmental field between religions, and was attended by scholars, religious leaders and activists from Belgium, Canada, Greece, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, America and Qatar.
