UN calls on Bahrain to respect freedom of Shia Muslims, release political detainees

The member states of the Human Rights Council called on Bahrain to respect the religious freedoms of the Shias, and to release political detainees in the country.

According to information received by Shia Waves Agency, Ireland has called for protecting the religious freedoms of the Shias and holding those responsible for the violations accountable.

 The United States demanded the removal of restrictions on peaceful assembly and association and the release of all persons detained for exercising the right to freedom of expression.

 Luxembourg and the UK also recommended halting executions, torture, ill-treatment, and religious discrimination, protecting political and human rights activists.
