Construction works in Basement of Imam Hussain below courtyard of Abi Al-Fadl Al-Abbas resume
The Engineering Projects Department at al-Abbas Holy Shrine has announced the resumption of work in the Basement of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, which is located under the Holy Shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon him.
The head of the department, Eng. Diaa Majid Al-Sayegh, said in a statement followed by Shia Waves News Agency, that “the total area of the basement is 1,000 square meters, with a length of 66 meters and a width of 14.2 meters, and the current works are complementary to what we started several months ago of the finishing works.”
He added that the work of covering the walls with alabaster is carried out according to designs developed for this purpose, and with inscriptions and decorations that were part of the wall, including arches and wall libraries.
According to Al-Sayegh, the current works are taking place in several tracks, in order to finish as soon as possible, and among these works is covering the ceiling with artistically-cut glass, which is work that requires accuracy and craftsmanship according to different designs, sizes and shapes.
