Afghanistan: Taliban force Shia Muslims in Balkhab out of their homes

Local sources in the city of Balkhab, which belongs to Sarbul province in northern Afghanistan, said that Taliban are forcing Shias out of Balkhab and turning civilian homes into military barracks.

The sources, who refused to reveal their name for fear of persecution by the authority, stated that in some villages of this city, Taliban members are trying to seize civilian homes and turn them into military bases and force a number of families to leave.
