Shias worldwide celebrate Eid Al-Zahra
Believers around the world are celebrating Eid Al-Zahra, marking the end of the mourning period of Muharram and Safar.
This day, which is known as Eid Al-Zahra – in reference to the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) – is a day of joy and happiness for the lovers of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).
The week of 9th – 15th of Rabi’ al- Awwal is also known as ‘The Week of Disownment’, commemorating Farhat al-Zahra or better known as Ghadir the Second. The slaying of Omar ibn al-Khattab by Abu Lu’lu is also marked on the 9th of Rabi’ al-Awwal.
Programs are being held in multiple centers
globally where believers will come together and rejoice on this occasion.
