Tens of thousands of pilgrims from Afghanistan and Pakistan enter Iraq via Shalamcheh Border Crossing to participate in the Arbaeen

Tens of thousands of pilgrims from Afghanistan and Pakistan are entering Iraq via Shalamcheh Border Crossing to participate in the Walk of Love, the walk towards the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, to participate in the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.

Shia Waves Agency delegate to Basra Province said: “The Shalamcheh Border Crossing with Iran witnessed today the influx of large numbers of Afghan and Pakistani pilgrims for the purpose of participating in the revival of the blessed Arbaeen Pilgrimage.”

He added that “some government departments and the holy shrines sent vehicles to transport the pilgrims to Karbala.”

Our delegate pointed out the return of many Iranian pilgrims to their country after the completion of the ceremonies to facilitate the entry of the visitors who were eagerly waiting at the (Iraqi-Iranian) border.”
