Eid al-Ghadir: The Second Greatest Event in Islam
Eid al-Ghadir is the Greatest Eid of God. All the prophets Allah had sent to humanity revived the Day of al-Ghadir as it is the day on which the religion of Islam was fulfilled and Allah’s grace was completed.
On the greatness of this Eid, there are many narrations. In a narration on the authority of Imam al-Redha, peace be upon him, in which he said: “The Day of Ghadir is more known in heaven than on earth”. The Imam also said on the greatness of this day: “Had the people realized the truth of this day, angels would have shaken hands with them ten times a day”.
Al-Ghadir is the second greatest event after the event of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him and his pure family) blessed Mab’eth and the revelation of the Noble Quran upon him.
The name ‘al-Ghadir’ is based on Allah’s command to the Prophet where he had a meeting with ten thousand companions between Mecca and Medina in a place called Ghadir Khum.
Despite the importance of this day, the Quranic verses and narrations documenting it, the enemies belittle the Shias of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) in their celebration of that day, ignoring all the authentic narrations reported regarding the Day of Ghadir.
