US intelligence: Kabul may fall into the hands of Taliban terrorists within 90 days

A US defense official announced that “Taliban terrorists may isolate the Afghan capital, Kabul, from the rest of the country within 30 days, and may control it within 90 days,” according to an intelligence assessment, quoted by Reuters.
With the movement’s forces taking control of Afghanistan’s eighth provincial capital, the official added, “The new assessment of Kabul’s resilience is based on the Taliban’s rapid gains across the country as US-led foreign forces leave.”
“But this is not an inevitable result,” he said, adding that the Afghan security forces can “turn things around by showing more resistance.”
